Rules note for the Major Division

In Little League Majors (league age 10-12), leadoffs are not legal: under Rule 7.13 a runner may not leave the base until the pitched ball reaches the batter, and there are no pickoff moves or balks. So in this guide the "lead" is really timing your legal break, and the "read" is the pitcher's release and the ball in the dirt, not a pickoff move. Where a technique only applies once leadoffs become legal (Intermediate 50/70 and up, league age 13+), it lives in the blue Alternative Considerations boxes.
