    Rules note for the Pony division

    At the Pony level, leadoffs are legal, and the Pony division plays under Major League rules, so pickoff moves and balks are live. The runner takes a primary and secondary lead, reads the pitcher for a pickoff or balk, and reads the ball in the dirt. Head-first sliding rules vary by local league, so where a technique depends on a local rule it is flagged in the blue Alternative Considerations boxes.
